P4W is the brainchild of 2007 C.H.Yoe High School Alum, Brenda DeRouen who started the non-profit organization in 2012 with the purpose of combating gang influence, substance abuse, lack of resources, and the overall neglect of the “4-Way” neighborhood in Cameron, Texas. Brenda, who recently graduated from Thurgood Marshall School of Law in Houston, enlisted the help of 2009 Yoe High Alum and current law student at the University of Denver – Sturm College of Law, Philip Nickerson, as Vice-President of P4W. Since then, the duo works to fulfill the purpose of the organization by encouraging educational excellence among the youth of Cameron.
